3D Laser Scanning Automotive Clay Model

The original project is a 1:5 scale clay model of a single-seater economy car. The design of the vehicle was intended to be an electric (or hybrid, or hydrogen, etc.) city car, as compact as possible for urban life. Clay models are common in the automotive industry because they are an efficient medium to add and take away material, allowing for extremely refined changes and surface development. However, clay models are completed by hand, based off sketches, so there is no digital data. In order to capture the exact clay model into 3D data, a laser scan is necessary.
