2009-2014 BMW X1 E84 Laser Scan

Most automotive exterior styling products fit onto existing OEM panels with complex curvature and surfaces. These subtle curves are extremely difficult to measure by hand. 3D Laser Scanning offers an efficient and precise solution to this - by laser scanning the body panels (vehicle exterior), a highly accurate digital representation can be created in virtual data. This expedites the development process drastically; designers and engineers can begin work immediately in CAD software, eliminating the need for manual measurements. During the scanning process, the scanner is essentially painting a three-dimensional model of the real object.

For this project, we performed a full exterior laser scan of the first-generation BMW X1 E84 (2009 – 2014). This data can be used for reverse-engineering, product development, aerodynamic upgrades, and offroad accessories. The data files are available for sale, please contact us for more information.
