Laser Scanning Vibrant Performance Mazda RX7 FC

Industrial-grade 3D laser scanning is frequently used in motorsport development. It enables project designers and engineers to capture highly accurate physical geometry, streamline product development processes, and simulate mechanical components in CAD. For custom engine assemblies, engineers can use the technology to verify clearances and spacing, and produce necessary adapters and brackets for the components with perfect fitment. Tight spaces can be extremely challenging to measure, and reliable scan data can be a valuable asset for the team.

We performed a scan of the full exterior, complete underbody including wheel wells and brakes, wheels and tires, and engine bay and motor for the Vibrant Performance Mazda RX7 FC3S. All the scans were performed with our metrology-grade blue laser scanner, at high resolution and 25 micron accuracy (ISO 17025 Accredited). The images below showcase the level of detail and quality of scans we provide.
